Lynette Aine

Voidsent Fae
Daughter of the Secret Veil

Disappearance

It was the misty forest again. Cherry swallows hard, reaching for her daggers as she pans the darkened landscape. She looks down at her empty sheathes at her hips and presses her lips together in a small pout. 'That's right..', she thought with growing panic. She had left them in the corrupted fae's lair after she....
Something skittered in the darkness, drawing her attention back to the forest beyond. Cherry holds her breath.. listening intently, her ears swiveling as she searches the darkness. There.. a small disturbance in the air and a.. scent. Panic begins to claw at the woman's chest as she smells the deep wild scent of flowers, fresh turned earth, and ...blood. "No! No! You're dead!" she whispers into the darkness.
Cherry takes a step back, fully meaning to run from this wicked place but stops as she collides with something. Firm, clawed hands lay solidly on her shoulders and spin her around violently. Lynette's blacken eyes bore into hers. The voidsent's wide grin somehow growing wider as she displays a horrible maw of sharpened teeth. The evil fae's wings unfurled around them seeming to make Lynette even bigger. All of her training disappeared as she stared into Lynette's horrible visage, the jagged, blackened rip in her throat that Cherry herself had given her seemed to make her that much more horrible. Lynette's lips peeled further back from her horrible maw in a evil grin as she says in a horrible, gurgling voice that made the wound at her neck ooze black, coagulated blood.. "h..hate you. I hate you. I hate you." The voidsent slams her clawed hand into Cherry's chest and grips her heart in her hand as Cherry's eyes bulge.. her mouth open in a soundless scream. "..what do you think Cherry? A heart for a heart?"
___
Cherry sits up in bed, eyes wide and gasping. She paws at her chest in panic.. solid.. unmarred warm flesh greets her probing fingers and she lets out a shuddering breath. "..f..fuck." she breathes trembling as she gently moves her mate's hand so she can climb from her bed. He stirred slightly, his hand reaching towards her warm spot on the bed. She leaned over and kissed his forehead gently before padding quietly to the bathroom and splashing her face with cold water from a basin and pitcher. She looks up at herself in the mirror and frowns at the dark rings under her eyes and her limp, dull hair. She slowly touches her face, feeling not for the first time a pang of displeasure. She was never a vain women, but she knew she didn't look well. She leans closer turning her face this way and that in the mirror before sighing and giving up. Drying her face she gives her reflection one last look and staggers backwards in shock. Lynette's face looked back at her from the mirror's reflection.. that horrible grinning maw pulled back in a terrible visage. Cherry screams as the figure reaches towards her and she catapults herself out the room and barrels into her mate.
He catches her easily and hugs her trembling form tightly... "Cherry? Cherry.. what's wrong!? Did you see it again? Shh.. shh.. it's ok. It's ok" Cherry looks up into his eyes with wild, sunken eyes. She trembled hard, looking over her shoulder at the room she'd just left. "Nor.. I.. I'm fine Nor. It's guilt, is all. I'm.. fine." She gently detangled herself from his grasp and moves back to their bed and sits on the edge. "She... she was innocent.. Or, rather.. had an innocence to her. She reminded me of my little sisters when I'd teach them games from my travels. She had the same eyes." Nor came to kneel beside her, running his hand wearily through his thick black hair and shaking his head.. "Cherry.. come on. She was a voidsent. They're monsters.. she wasn't innocent Cherry. She was a Killer."
"I'm a Killer too, Nor." said Cherry quietly.
The man shook his head, taking Cherry's hand in his and giving it a squeeze. "Yes. ..but you kill other Killers. Not innocents. Do you think that voidsent chose it's victims based off their Sins? No.. it'd kill anyone as soon as it hungered and they always hunger. Women, children, the helpless.. She'd have not cared. Why are you letting this haunt you, my love? It's been months.. focus on the baby now. We've waited so long for this.." Cherry gave a little start as Nor gently laid his hand protectively over the small bump beginning to show over Cherry's once flat belly. She looked at him and his eyes held such love she couldn't help but smile back at him. Placing her hand over his and nodding, even though she had no idea how to stop what had been plaguing her for months. Smiling, Nor climbs back into bed and pulls Cherry into his arms. She curls against his chest and he gazes down at her thoughtfully, his hand moving to gently finger the softly glowing stone around his lover's neck. "This.. however.. what if this is what's plaguing your dreams, love? ..Maybe, take it off for awhile..?" He felt her stiffen in his arms and he pressed his lips together knowing what her answer would be. He just hoped she wouldn't yell this time. Thankfully she seemed too exhausted and she just batted his hand away from the stone. "Don't touch it. Nor, I mean it. It's draining my extra aether, if I take it off now and my aether returns to it's full power.. the baby... NO! No... no. I'm fine. I'm strong, I can do this. It's just a few more months, after our kit is born; I can chuck the damn stone into the deepest pit I can find and never look back." Nor looked down at his mate in distress, swallowing hard and gently petting her. Running his hands gently through her hair until she relaxed against him. Her breathing deepening as she fell into an exhausted sleep in his arms.

Cherry opened her eyes, the landscape was the dark forest again and she was laying on a pile of blackened moss. Fog drifts over the ground and she could hear the soft sound of water bubbling and singing over a creek somewhere in the darkness. Cherry pushes herself to her feet and begins to pick her way towards the sound of the water. She comes to a stop at a clearing beside a small, picturesque stream. Beside the water sits a breathtakingly beautiful child of maybe 7-8 moons. Her fingers idly drift over the surface of the water and her innocent voice tinkles sweetly as she speaks without looking at Cherry.. "you again.. so you're here. Sit with me. I wish to talk." Cherry frowns, moving cautiously to sit beside the young girl. She seemed familiar somehow, but Cherry couldn't place how. The girl looks up and captures Cherry's gaze for a moment with crystalline clear eyes that held something sad and unreadable. The girl looks back to the stream and leans forward, removing something from the water and handing it to Cherry. Confused, Cherry looks down with mounting horror as a dripping wet set of bone dice fall from her shaking hands. Cherry scrambles from her seat next to the girl and sinks into a dragon stance, preparing for a fight. The girl looks at her with a mix of amusement and sadness before going back to idly drifting her fingers over the water's bubbling surface. After a moment.. Cherry slowly straightened. She wasn't attacking her? Untrusting, Cherry walks around and squats a little ways from the girl and waits. Finally, she speaks again, so soft the miqote's ears almost didn't catch it. "I don't want them anymore. Your gift. Take it back."
Cherry cocks her head, studying the girl and then the dice. Disturbed, she starts carefully.. "Keep them. ...Lynette?" The girl didn't respond, just continued to stare at the water's surface a sad expression on her face. Cherry sat quietly and waited, after a moment, her patience was rewarded with Lynette's soft voice tinkling into the darkness once more. "It was for a baby.. wasn't it? You murdered me, ..so you could have a child?" Cherry's eyes widened and she tried to stagger backwards, but instead falls upon her rump. Her mouth working for words, but her voice wouldn't come. Lynette just smiled and nodded, as if Cherry's reaction was confirmation enough. She finally turned to look at Cherry and held her gaze steadily, "..I wasn't born a fairy, you know. No one is. Some of the children are quite young when they died, but me? I was 9yrs old when death took me. I was someone's beloved daughter once.. I used to have a Mommy. YOU'RE more of a monster, than me." she turned away and gazed into the water. "And I'm not dead, you know. Voidsent don't die and thanks your aether, I'm being fed quite well. I can also hear everything you say about me.. I'm here. Right here.", she says tapping her temple with one finger. She looked at Cherry's stricken face and gave her a wicked smile, enjoying the woman's reaction.
Cherry fought for her composure even as panic tried to well up inside her. "Lynette.. I.." "“LIAR! LYING LIAR WHO LIES!”", screeched the girl, thunder was in the deepened voice that roared at Cherry. Lynette's eyes turning pitch black for a moment before she focuses again on the water before her. "Just shut up, Cherry." she says irritably, her voice returning to the soft tinkle. Lynette shook her head and laughed a soft, bitter sound. "..maybe we're not all the monsters, you think we are Cherry. You told me that we could have been friends, but a lying liar only lies!" Lynette looked down pointedly at her own belly and placed one hand over her abdomen, the look of thoughtfulness crossing her innocent cherubic face. As if on queue, Cherry felt the soft butterfly like flutter in her belly that had given her so much joy days before... and now made her cover her own belly protectively with her hand. Lynette bore into Cherry's eyes and smiled. Cherry shivered..
"Yes, I can feel it. Our little baby." Lynette smiled a horrible smile at Cherry and the woman scrambled away from the voidsent child. Cherry points shakily at Lynette, "My baby, Lynette.. it's MY baby." Lynette just continued to smile her terrible smile, looking pointedly at Cherry's stomach and saying softly.. "no Cherry.. it's OUR baby. You stole my essence to create this child. It's just as much mine, as yours." The fae laughs soft and wistfully, “You know you never finished our game! You attacked me in the middle of it! You cheated! You cheating cheater! You took away my chance to win! So it’s only fair I take something in return! Only fair!" Suddenly the fae was behind Cherry, her soft tinkling voice a whisper in the other woman's ear... "Me and the baby, the baby and me! We'll be the best of friends! A friend I'll teach to never lie to me and never leave me! I always wanted a friend! Since you cheated and took away my fun, maybe I take away your baby and we have much more fun! You won't deny me Cherry, or else I'll just have to.." The fae's small clawed hand dives into Cherry's belly; ripping free a bloody mass of fetus. Cherry stared in horror as the fae brought it to her lips and took a big bite, pausing only to lick at her claws. Cherry screamed.. and screamed.. and screamed.
___
Cherry gasps awake, kicking and fighting in the blankets until she slides unceremoniously onto the floor. Her mate was gone this night, on the hunt. Taking over many of her old duties as her belly grew more swollen with child. Sweat soaked, she clawed at the blankets until she could touch her now well-swollen belly. She sobs in relief, trembling shakily as she curls into fetal position on the ground.. trying to somehow curl around her unborn child protectively. She sniffles as a thought comes to her, and she pulls the necklace out from under her sweat drenched shirt and stares at it's glowing visage. Swallowing hard, she flips the stone from one side to the other, examining it in her palm. She said ...she wasn't dead? In the dream... but what if.. what if it wasn't a dream? Her heart hammering in her chest, she whispers to the stone "Please.. please don't hurt my baby. I'll do what you want. I'll accept, ..any conditions. Just... don't hurt the baby." There was no answer, naturally, and Cherry blew out a breath in naked relief. Perhaps.. it was just a dream? Suddenly, a voice fills her mind.. a very familiar voice. Soft and tinkling with pleasure.. "We'll be wonderful friends, Cherry. Me and the baby, the baby and me! We'll be the best of friends!" A soft light begins to glow on Cherry's lap and she moves away from it quickly, staring with wide eyes as the glowing shape takes the form of her lost daggers. The two shining forms flow together into a long rod-like shape, the tip tapering out into a wicked scythe's blade. Putting up one hand to shield her sensitive eyes, Cherry squints at the bright weapon's form. As quickly as it came, the light fades leaving behind a glowing Reaper's scythe. Cherry trembles as she lifts the weapon and examines it, confirming her worst fears. She turns away and buries her face in her arms sobbing even as she hears Lynette's laughter echoing in her mind.

The Summoning

Ceana Ramsay opened the door to a dark room that was slightly lit with candlelight. In the middle of the room was a fairy gate of flowers, with toadstools growing around it in a circle. A dark skinned maiden lay naked in the flowers, her body an offering to the voidsent they were to summon. Silvaire Ouraux looked at the circle his eyes lighting up in recognition, but he spoke of naught. His eyes casted to Ceana if only for a moment before back to the laying hyur. Vulnerable and nude, a shame he had an idea of what were to become of her mortal coincious.
Ceana Ramsay walks to the book before the fairy gate, and smiles while turning back, "You know what this grimoire is, right?"
Silvaire Ouraux wandered towards the book his eyes running over the text carefully, "Fae." He said simply, "The circle is already prepared for such.."
Ceana Ramsay nods and asks, being careful not to upset the mortal before he does what she truly wants, "Do you need anything to complete the summon?"

The Summoning

Silvaire Ouraux glanced to the text once more, "Honey. For the mortal to be covered in, salt for mine own body.. and Nails for a necklace of sorts.." He looked to Ceana, "From there I will be able to call to the fae from beyond the rift, and beckon one to inhabit the mortal." Ceana Ramsay nodded, taking note of the items, "I will return shortly. We should have those items in the kitchen.
Ceana Ramsay returns with the honey, salt, nails, and twine. She hands the items over to Silvaire and steps back to watch, "Whatever you summon, I will make sure it doesn't eat you! You are too precious to be wasted on a untethered voidsent!"

The Summoning

Silvaire Ouraux takes them, and gives a feeble nod to the mistress, before stepping back and begining to pour the honey over the nude body, slowly and making sure to cover the sacrifice suffiecently before setting the pot aside. dosing himself in the salt before tying the nails around his own neck. Stepping around the circle before finally facing the circle in full.
Ceana Ramsay feels the anticipation burn her blood in joy, she cant wait but see if this mortal is successful.
Silvaire Ouraux he waited for a moment, before continuing, "If this gift is to your liking. Prithee, show thyself in your glory."

The Summoning

Lynette Aine grips at the edges of a forming portal. Slowly her head appearing through it. Her neck twisting and contorting in ways that weren't possible for humans. Taking in the surroundings, quickly noticing the vast aether contained within Silvaire. Slowly emerging from the portal, her Fae wings flickering quickly. She charges at Silvaire. Stopping inches from him. Her eyes fixated on the Iron nails around his neck, the smell of salt coving him. Her jaw lowers, as if dislocating itself
Rows of sharp teeth now in full view for the Elezen. Her gaze now darting to the Hyur lying on the floor. The sweet aroma of honey overtaking her senses. Quickly shooting over to the motionless woman, hovering over her. Her gaze shifts from one Elezen to the other. An ear piercing screech echoing the room as she appears to vanish. At that instant the woman on the ground sits up, and begins to hunch over
Her back shivering as wings begin to emerge from her skin and flutter lifting her from the ground. Her mouth once more hanging open to show her fangs as she mutters "Cár thug tú liom?
